Mine Hill hosts as Morris Youth Rugby is in the first week of the 2009 season.

Denville Dawgs
The Denville Dawgs started its 11th season in the home of the Mine Hill Tigers on June 20th. One hour of sun was followed by a continuous rain fall and dropping temperatures. That did not stop play, 27 matches took place. The Denville Dawgs faired well with only 1 practice due to the weather. Next week, home pitch advantage will drive us over the try line.
Here are some highlights from the matches.
Falcon Division
The Falcons had a great day playing rugby in the rain especially for only one practice. Even Robert Kruas who started on Saturday picked it up really quickly. Everyone worked on our spacing both on offense, defense and kickoffs and we’re only going to get better after a few more practices. We’re looking forward to a great season.
Hawk Division
The Denville Hawks 1 had a strong start. Pulling ahead of Black River I 26 – 15. Tries were scored by Ben Levitt – 3, Kristen Onorati 1.
Their second match was fast paced with Denville outscoring Mine Hill 50 – 17. Tries were scored by Christina Punzo - 3 ,Ben Levitt - 2, Dylan Chicarella – 3.
The Denville Hawk # 2 team only had one game in the end. A great game and win against Black River 41 – 21. Our team was down at half time but scored lots of points in the 2nd half. Tries were scored by Jeremy Alexander 3, Joseph Hook, Brett Decker, Tommy Volmar & Chris Suleski 1 try each. Joseph Hook had 1 conversion and Tommy Volmar had 2 conversions.
Eagle Division
The Denville Dawgs Eagle 1 team had a slow start but came alive 2nd half with a solid wall defense, great ball movement, team effort to win 9-21 over Black River Dustin DellaSanti scored 3 tries, Tyler Chicarella 2 and Anthony Errante had 2 conversations.
Dawgs Team Eagles 1 played like a veteran team and carried good ball movement & defense to take a win over Parsippany 38-24. Dustine DellaSanti, Tyler Chicarella, Michael Levitt, Zach Wekilsky all scored 1 try, Anthony Errante 2 tries and 3 conversions and Dustin DellaSanti also had a conversion.
The Denville Eagle 3 lost a tough game to Parsippany 2 - Pars 31 - Denville 7. Troy Denise 1 try and Tom scored the conversion. In their second game they came up short against Black River 2 35 – 12. Scoring for Denville, John Stemkowski scored his first try, Tom added the conversion. Ally Black added a try.
